Is it wrong that I'm quite enjoying it?

A long standing male acquaintance and I both became "single" at roughly the same time. One through bereavement one through a relationship breakdown. Neither of us is interested in/ready for any kind of relationship just now, but we have been spending some time together as friends and keeping busy/distracted.

TBH, it shocking how much couple friends have disappeared for both of us and it's been good to have someone to go out and do Christmassy things with, we've had some really nice, completely relaxed, pressure free outings.

Anyway the grapevine appears to be all a twitter. Would it be very childish of us to feed them titbits?! (Especially those "friends" who have abandoned us?) We're both in our 50s

Don't do it. That sort of thing always ends up backfiring on you.

Ooooh yes, definitely. This happened to me once with a dear friend who was gay but no one knew that.

It's just speculation about the nature of our relationship. Slightly insulting that they'd think it of either of us so soon after the bereavement.

Along with ostentatious leather bondage gear.

I probably would, but I can be petty and am still a bit bitter about how many married friends ditched me totally after I was widowed. Really hurt my faith in humanity.
