Thrush or uti

I’ve had a burning sensation on and off for two months. I also find it hard sometimes to actually pass urine and have to push it out. I do have the discharge issue which matches thrush however. Would be grateful for any advice please.

You need to go to a GUM clinic and get swabbed. They will tell you what it is and how it can be treated.

Usually the symptoms are very different, so should be obvious. Thrush is itching in your vagina and vulva. Shouldn’t really affect how you wee. A UTI is often very painful. There is certainly no way I’ve ever lasted more than a day without getting it treated. One of the more agonising things I’ve ever had wrong with me. Also shouldn’t cause itching as the infection is internal, not external.

Are you sexually active? Have you tried thrush treatment? If you have, with no relief, definitely get tested for STIs (very easy to request a home test you can do yourself). They are more likely to cause both external itching and trouble urinating.
