Help! Period or implantation

Hello I really someone has been through this. I've been tracking my periods and notice that exactly a week before my period is due I bleed as a 1 off (bright red blood).
This time it didn't happen.
3 days before my period I get this 1 off dark red slimey bleed. Nothing more since. Is this just bad time and be likely to be getting my period or is this implantation?
I cried all night and very tearful this morning. I had such a good feeling now I've just crashed and giving up!

Why are you tearful? Are you trying to get pregnant?
I doubt anyone here can tell you for sure what this is, OP, but FWIW I had what must have been an implantation bleed once (I have 5 DC). It came around the same time as period due and was accompanied by unusual (for me) cramping. The bleed was yukky pinkish brown and a little slimy, not bright red.

Yes we are trying to get pregnant..so the tears was because we thought my period is coming. And as its different to my norm we were soo hoping that this month would be a Christmas miracle

I had this. Mine was bright red. It was a good amount but didn't last a long time. I was pregnant with twins.
