Only had 2nd covid jab today, due to having covid earlier in the year and then being so Ill for so long I am very behind everyone else. (Not hospitalised thankfully - bed ridden).
Felt rough after the first jab for 12 hours, shivers etc. I went to bed at 10 last night and have layed their sweating and shivering for three hours, now I have moved to the sofa so DH can get some uninterrupted sleep, and noticed my top lip is very tingly and swollen, but comes and goes- not getting progressively worse. 111 advice is ‘ sudden, rapid swelling - of the eyes, lips, mouth, throat or tongue’. So I’m a little scared but don’t want to over react. No way I’m going back to sleep now! What do you think?

Have you got any hayfever tablets? If you've taken them before and been OK it might be worth taking one?

SweetsAndChocolates · 15/12/2021 01:36

I would definitely call 111, and let your DH know what's going on x

I would call for advice too. That does sound like an allergic reaction.

How are you now?

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 15/12/2021 03:02

Hope you're OK now op Flowers

For future reference if you think you're experiencing swelling then take a photo every 5-10 minutes. It's sometimes really hard to tell, but it can also help the doctors to see how fast things are progressing.

Op hopefully you are fine and getting some sleep. My tongue swelled after my second jab. Only the day after but it freaked me out. I kept my phone on me throughout the day incase I needed to contact someone if it got worse.

Echoesandsilence · 15/12/2021 05:22

Hope you are ok OP

Badgerloco · 15/12/2021 14:45

Thanks everyone. The swelling stopped and other than a headache I am fine now, fever has gone but I had to take the day off though. Bloody jabs have affected me so much more than anyone else I know.
