Sarcasm

I hate sarcasm. I do not, as some might quote, find it the lowest form of wit. There is no "Wit" involved. It's more than that. It is bullying, insensitivity and pure meanness.

Why try and be a mean clever dick?

@OhWhyNot

Oh ok
Thanks for being my first quote. Grin Grin

I like sarcasm, but it's got to be with a worthy opponent.

RonniePickering · 15/12/2021 00:42

I like a bit of sarcasm 🤷🏼‍♀️

CovidPassQuestion · 15/12/2021 00:44

Well, I have come here for a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed!

Unreasonabubble · 15/12/2021 00:47

@CovidPassQuestion I am indeed unarmed! But take your fill from other challengers!!!

Oh, okay.

I try to not be THAT poster but sometimes my inner chimp gets out. Oo oo ah ah.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 15/12/2021 00:50

Only sometimes?

FlibbertyGiblets · 15/12/2021 00:53

Hehehe.

Anordinarymum · 15/12/2021 00:54

Sarcasm between willing parties is OK. Sarcasm from a boss when you can't answer back is shit

Unreasonabubble · 15/12/2021 00:58

I think it only fair to explain my background. I WAS a very innocent, mind your own business person then I got married. He is now an EX. But when I was married, his family were awful but I did not realise because I was 10 years younger than him (17). They took the piss out of me something chronic. My SIL and BIL were the worst offenders but me, being me, did not know how to stand up to them or call them out. I am so glad I am now divorced. Grin

That's not sarcasm - it's baiting
Unreasonabubble · 15/12/2021 01:14

@Anordinarymum - Really? OMG!

Okay - I hate sarcasm come what may.

Also, I do not bait. Not on purpose anyway! Blimey!

My family are all sarcastic to each other.
It's meant with no malice, but my ex was horrified and didn't know how to react.

Unreasonabubble · 15/12/2021 01:19

@RobertSmithsLipstick - I think that is my problem to be honest. I came from a very abusive family so what may be considered sarcasm today was "abuse" to me then.

I am just kind and nice to people where I can be. Disclaimer - Does not always apply to my posts in Mumsnet. Grin

OP posts:
RobertSmithsLipstick · 15/12/2021 01:21

That's interesting, because my ex had an abusive family background, too.
