Would you report cocaine use at the Christmas party?

A member of staff was seen using and offered it to others too.

It's not something I do and I'd think it completely inappropriate. I wasn't there, but I'm not sure I'd have reported it.

It has been reported and staff member is suspended pending an investigation.

Would you have reported?

No

wanttomarryamillionaire · 14/12/2021 22:29

No I wouldn't because im not a nosey, self righteous twat.

CBroads · 14/12/2021 22:29

No, it's no one else's business. Chirst, don't people have better things to do? Let people make their own choices in life, they're not forcing it up your nose, stop crying.

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 14/12/2021 22:30

No. I'm not the Stasi.

Annotherchange · 14/12/2021 22:30

@HollowTalk

I don't believe it about hard partying teachers. Most teachers go home and have to do a load of work. There's no way most people are partying like that when they have a job like teaching.
This really worries me. I work in a profession that is frequently touted as heroes. If you don’t accept that there are people in the profession who are not heroes, not angels and not perfect. Then you are in trouble.

@Pantsomime

I’d report- am stunned by how many people appear happy for coke heads to be teaching their children by saying no one’s business. It’s illegal for a reason it messes with your head, finances, relationships, judgement, priorities and life generally and your children if it’s fine to be using on a work night out
Well if your stunned at that then you would positively piss your pants at what medical staff get up to on a night out!!
Orangesox · 14/12/2021 22:31

Yes, I would report this without hesitation.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 14/12/2021 22:32

@Nevertime

Yes, good points about the exploitation of children, a big problem in our area and among our students. I wonder if the investigation will include how the drugs were obtained...
Not to mention the poor Colombian farmers who are exploited and who live in fear of their lives.
Annotherchange · 14/12/2021 22:32

@Blinkingbatshit

Supporting County Lines & child abuse. Stop kidding yourselves, if you’re buying coke this is what you’re doing, end of. Middle classes need to wake up and see what their recreational fun is doing to those further down the chain. True scum & they should be outed for it.
Yep. The snitches get stitches ridiculous behaviour.
blacksax · 14/12/2021 22:33

A joint probably not, but cocaine? Yes I'd report it. Every user is perpetuating the trade.

Drug trafficking is a global problem and causes untold suffering everywhere.

SRS29 · 14/12/2021 22:33

Yes I would report....there's very good reason why it's illegal 😡

KnickerlessNicholby · 14/12/2021 22:36

I wouldn't (and if you think that cocaine is used by only a tiny proportion of aberrant and off-the-rails teachers then I'm afraid you may need to recalibrate Grin)

gelatodipistacchio · 14/12/2021 22:37

No, though I am horrified at the things people are revealing here about the cocaine trade. Just awful.

JKDinomum · 14/12/2021 22:38

I can't believe how many people don't have an issue with this and seem to think occasional cocaine use at a party is totally normal. Class A drug use is way above my threshold for "live and let live".

Hen2018 · 14/12/2021 22:40

Yes.

jazzandh · 14/12/2021 22:40

Yes I would.

It's not an innocent action without consequence.

I wouldn't report. And there are plenty of people out there who take cocaine recreationally who are fully functional, with no evidence to support their lives being "wrecked". Clearly a few people have a problem with it but I wouldn't say the majority.

I don't condone it, and the moral ramifications of taking it are massive. But it's not a life wrecker. It's used recreationally by vast numbers of people including lots of teachers, nurses, doctors, etc etc.

HeartsAndClubs · 14/12/2021 22:44

Anyone who essentially condones drug use by turning a blind eye is essentially an abuse apologist.

Well done.

Well I would because I am not a low life, drug using arsehole.
smashingbaubles · 14/12/2021 22:46

I would actually. I think there’s no excuse for coke - it ruins the lives of so many people in its harvesting and production, and so many vulnerable people are involved in the supply chain. It fucking sucks and people who give money to that industry deserve what they get, tbh.

CircusSands · 14/12/2021 22:47

Seems like a lot of people need to educate themselves about the misery of the supply chain including county lines. And once they do that, if they still take part in this miserable trade for their bit of fun, which is what they are doing, shame on them, and they deserve to be reported.

Palavah · 14/12/2021 22:51

@Totallydefeated

Absolutely not, I’d have kept my beak out. I can’t stand people who ‘report’ others.
How do you feel about those who use vulnerable people as mules for illegal drugs, putting the lives of those vulnerable people at risk?
Palavah · 14/12/2021 22:52

@Turkishangora there are other lives involved than the middle class professionals who fancy a bit of party sherbert.

TheMoth · 14/12/2021 22:55

I don't think anyone's said coke wrecks the life of the user; it's the lives of those who GET the coke for the users.

But then, I can see the faces of the kids who are fucked because of their involvement. But like I said before, if it's not a problem, encourage your kids to get into supplying. I think they promise more cash than a paper round. Your kid might have to carry a knife though.

I agree. I can/t believe anyone with children is happy to make excuses for people like this.
