How can I change my phone mid contract?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20FE and I hate it. It's too big and my hand is hurting. It also doesn't fit into my pockets. I didn't realise the FE edition was so large because I bought it over the phone from Vodafone.

I have 13 months left to run and can't afford to pay an early termination fee thingy.

How can I get rid of this horrible phone?

Buy a second hand smaller phone to keep you going for the next 13 months? Just make sure it is tied to vodafone or unlocked.

Put the sim in an old phone or buy a new unlocked phone (i.e. not fixed to any network) and put it in that. I did this, I got the new phone from Asda.

Will this mini sim fit into any unlocked phone?

Check your contract isn’t one of Vodafone’s upgrade every year ones? Mine is and I hadn’t even realised or paid extra for it, apparently it’s common with newer phones.

It's a two year contract.

So is mine, but at 12 months I got an email saying “the plan you’re on. Comes with our annual upgrade promise” - could be worth calling them or popping into a store to check?

You can often get the sim replaced or use an adapter or take the middle out if a different phone uses a smaller sim.

You could also sell your existing phone and use the money to get a new one.

Get a phone popsockect or phone ringbracket. it should solve the problem.
