Miscarriage?

bleeding started at 9 in morning yesterday filled 2 pads and a tiny bit since. Got the small clot around 3pm had the normal cramps I’ve had since the start of the pregnancy. Around 12 AM pain started to get worse but wasn’t severe. Pain started to dull around 1:30 am after taking paracetamol around 12:30am and felt like the normal cramps I’ve had since start again then around 3 AM my pains stopped completely I wiped around 4 am and saw the big clot I’ve had little to no bleeding since. is this a miscarriage? With this is there any chance of it having actually survived and going on to a heathy pregnancy at all?

You should really contact your midwife for advice. Hope everything is okay for you.

What pregnancy week are you on? It does sound likely im afraid. Sad

Hi, sorry forgot to mention I’m 5 weeks pregnant. Around 2 days before I started to bleed I took a how many weeks digital I was originally at 2-3 week and took one the next week to see if it went up to 3+ that wasn’t the case and it went down to 1-2 I took another I think later that day and it was 2-3 took one next day and it said 1-2 again then I began bleeding the day after. I currently don’t have a midwife was still waiting for the self referall to get back to me. I went to A&E yesterday to be told bleeding completely normal and clots can happen sent me home and booked me for a scan for next Monday when I’m 6 weeks.

I think it may be, as when I had my miscarriage it was similar.

However, with DD - now a healthy adult - I bled, passed clots and had much more pain etc than with my miscarriage, yet the pregnancy stuck.

Adviceplease28 · 13/12/2021 11:13

I would add pictures of the clots so you can have a better idea but I don’t know how to do it.

A&E should have scanned you. Contact your EPAU and speak to a midwife there. They should invite you in for a scan.

I’m not medically trained and I doubt anyone on here is.

I would urge you to reach out to an EPU for reassurance.

Adviceplease28 · 13/12/2021 11:18

@Tippytaps it was EPAU who decided they didn’t want to do anything nor to scan me because I ain’t 6 weeks along till Friday. So I just got sent home all I had done was pulse and blood pressure took.

I don’t think A&E can do anything for a 5 week pregnancy. Unfortunately, a lot of pregnancies this early do result in miscarriage and the general advice is to go home, wait and test again in another week.

So sorry OP, wishing you well and hope you feel bette r soon Flowers

@Adviceplease28 I am sorry to hear this. I have been scanned at 4 weeks and 5 weeks, it seems like a postcode lottery.

I can’t imagine how you must be feeling right now Flowers

Can you go private and get HCG blood tests done? Hospitals often have a link to their private practice online.

silvercosmopolitian · 13/12/2021 16:16

Hi OP, so sorry you are going through this, and particuarly sorry you have to wait for next Monday for your scan Flowers

I don't have any personal experience, but thought maybe tomorrow you would consider calling The Miscarriage Association helpline,

www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/

as they may be able to give more medical information about whether your symptoms are indicatitive of miscarriage.

So sorry you have to wait so long for your scan xx

Tippytaps · 16/12/2021 23:44

@Adviceplease28 good luck for tomorrow Flowers

Adviceplease28 · 17/12/2021 00:11
