If you were a Fitbit where would you hide

DD had a sleepover on Friday, one of her friends has lost her Fitbit in our house. I’ve turned the place upside down (I’m talking moved furniture, lifted every sofa cushion and mattress) and I can’t find the bastard thing.
Give me idea if where an 8 year old would leave a Fitbit? It’s brand new and it’s really stressing me out as I don’t really have the money to replace it if it doesn’t turn up!

Down the side of the bed. Always.

Thefuturestory · 13/12/2021 09:27

But you don’t have to replace it. The 8 year old lost it.

Can they come to your house with the Fitbit app. If it syncs then it’s at your house.

Watching for inspiration as I lost mine weeks ago and still haven't found it.

Why on Earth would you have to replace it?Confused

Would she have taken it off to wash? Is there anywhere in your bathroom it could be lurking? DH somehow managed to lose a watch in our en-suite (which is only used by him and the dog) for a couple of years. He'd dropped it into a basket of random stuff.

Neolara · 13/12/2021 09:33

In her sleeping bag?

CelloYouveGotABass · 13/12/2021 09:35

Can you find it on the app and set an alarm for one minutes time? That’s how I’ve found my lost one - just listen for the vibrations.

No idea why you would have to replace it though!

Thefuturestory · 13/12/2021 09:38

@CelloYouveGotABass I had no idea you could do that.

That would have helped when I lost mine.

I’m going to suggest the laundry basket.

I agree , once it's on Bluetooth via phone it will vibrate

You can download several free apps to find loft Fitbits. They work best if there is only one in the house. We use them quite often!

IMarchToADifferentDrummer · 13/12/2021 09:48

She couldn't have lost something bigger, huh?!
Down the side of a sofa or chair, in the bed, under the mattress, under the bed, some obsequious place in the bathroom if she bathed or showered, in a pillowcase, on a shelf, attached to a toy, in her own bag, in your car?
I'm assuming that the parents have checked their place, too, and car/s and would have let you know if it's been found?
In the garden? Yard?
It could literally be anywhere!!!

yikesanotherbooboo · 13/12/2021 09:54

Mine hides in the bathroom usually or if very sneaky in a pile of papers / magazines recently shuffled together in the kitchen.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/12/2021 09:57

The child needs to think about where she'd have been likely to take it off. Apart from the bathroom as I suggested upthread, in her sleeping bag (if she had one) is quite likely.
Let's hope that's it and she's already taken it home.

BrimfulOfBaba · 13/12/2021 09:58

I found mine in my pillowcase once.

Also agreed you shouldn't pay to replace it if you can't find it. Suggest she comes back to look for it herself.

LIZS · 13/12/2021 09:59

Under bed, in bedding, plugged in on charge?

Toddlerteaplease · 13/12/2021 10:19

Ask St Anthony. He never fails.

PinotAndPlaydough · 13/12/2021 13:18

I’m going to try the apps and have suggested to her mum that she pops over and tries setting an alarm.

I feel like I need to replace it because it’s lost in my house and the poor girl only had it a week, it was her birthday present!

Inside a shoe/slipper.
In the laundry basket/bin

In the rubbish bin swept up with rubbish.
U bend of loo (yuck!?)
In the coat /scarf/glove area /cupboard or I. A boot/shoe below same.

LIZS · 13/12/2021 13:25

Up the sleeve of whatever top she was wearing?

ErrolTheDragon · 13/12/2021 13:27

It's really not your responsibility to replace. Presumably the parents bought it, and let her wear it. What's to say if you replaced it she'd take better care of it?

(Apart from which, why does an 8yo need a Fitbit anyway?Confused)

Blurp · 13/12/2021 13:30

At the bottom of whatever bag she brought her stuff in? Or wrapped up in laundry? Or it fell off in the car?

StressyMcStressFace · 13/12/2021 13:36

Pockets - dressing gown, pyjamas, trousers, coat everything she was wearing. Hope you find it x

WhatScratch · 13/12/2021 13:37

Was it just your DD and this girl?

PinotAndPlaydough · 13/12/2021 13:53

@WhatScratch no there was another little girl, I’ve already asked her mum to check her stuff and she said it wasn’t there.

OP posts:
WhatScratch · 13/12/2021 13:58

It’s a good idea to ask the girl’s mother to come over and try setting an alarm. If you’ve checked all bedding, moved furniture and checked in clothes drawers and wardrobes then you might need to ask the other girl’s mother to check again.

IMarchToADifferentDrummer · 18/12/2021 11:57

Has it been found yet?
