Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch

Please can someone advise me. First time ever for me to buy a gaming device. Buying Animal Crossing as a gift and one is £40 and another is half that price. One is a download, the other is, I assume a physical chip/attachment of some sort?

What's the real difference ? It makes more sense to go for a cheaper download doesn't it?!

I'm not sure there's much material difference... you can only have a certain number of games installed at a time. If its a new Switch I'd just get the download 🤷🏻‍♀️

If the download is half the price, I think you'll be looking at Happy Home Paradise which is a DLC add on game for the base game. You can't play it without the original game. Unless you've found a super bargain somewhere. Post a link and I can check for you but the price is right for Happy Home Paradise and it's download only so...

Yes this is just an add on to the game. You still need the animal crossing base game to play it

Yes that's Happy Home Paradise, see it says the name under the words Animal Crossing? It's like a whole different game but you need the base game to access it.

The benefit of buying the game card is that you can sell it if you get fed up of the game, Animal Crossing is still a very popular game and will sell second hand for a decent price.
I don't think I've ever seen it on offer either whereas they regularly reduce the big Mario games.
