Anyone had nosebleed after Pfizer?

My health anxiety is rearing it’s ugly head again😩

I had my booster jab yesterday, Pfizer after the initial two Astra Zeneca jabs. I feel a bit grotty today, headachey and tired but nothing too bad. However I’ve just had a little nosebleed which has freaked me out a bit. There’s nothing in the leaflet I was given about nosebleeds as a side effect and I’m reluctant to Google as I know I’ll end up convincing myself I’m about to die!

So, just wondering, has anyone else had this side effect (and lived to tell the tale!)

I think it is just a coincidence.

@RampantIvy

Most probably it is I know. Wish I could be rational but health anxiety is a real bugger.

I had a nosebleed and bleeding gums after my first two jabs ( Astrazenica) Docs said not to worry as long as it wasn't heavy and didn't last long.

ScarlettDarling · 12/12/2021 12:06

@wanttomarryamillionaire Thank you, that’s really reassuring. It’s not heavy and has stopped again but I’ve been having visions of developing some terrible clotting disorder 🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s weird because my 15 year old DS had his Pfizer jab on Thursday and woke this morning with a nosebleed. He’s never had one before!

wanttomarryamillionaire · 12/12/2021 12:15

@ScarlettDarling it's something to do with platelets. Apparently should only be temporary and not heavy. I had my booster last night ( pfzier) and apart from a sore arm ive not had any symptoms at all yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

ScarlettDarling · 12/12/2021 12:25

@Inastatus Was it a heavy nosebleed? My ds has just told me that he had a couple of light nosebleeds after his second Pfizer jab! Weird!

@wanttomarryamillionaire thanks for that!

Nosebleeds etc are a common side effect

Forion · 12/12/2021 13:21

Mine bled twice after the jab, but nothing since.

Inastatus · 12/12/2021 14:05

@ScarlettDarling - no, it was just a light one.

ScarlettDarling · 12/12/2021 14:14

It’s not mentioned in the leaflet as a side effect, not even as an uncommon one.

I had small nosebleeds for two days after the Pfizer booster (as well as feeling grotty).

bowlingalleyblues · 12/12/2021 15:17

No - had throbbing veins. Not painful but could feel an ache in the veins in my legs, quite odd. Reported to MHRA yellow card scheme as a side effect.

ScarlettDarling · 12/12/2021 17:34

@Forion and @charmingthebirds that makes me feel a little better, thanks. I know it could just be a coincidence but I very rarely have nosebleeds and I am always inclined to panic!!

wasthataburp · 13/12/2021 06:42

@ScarlettDarling I have heard of lots of people both in real life and on MN saying they had nosebleeds.

GoodnightGrandma · 13/12/2021 06:45

If you’re anxious it will put your blood pressure up, and you’re more likely to have a nose bleed.

GoodnightGrandma · 13/12/2021 06:46

And no I don’t.
Neither did my DH or our kids.

KatyAnna · 13/12/2021 06:47

My daughter had two nosebleeds after the Moderna jab.

sandgrown · 13/12/2021 06:48

I had my first nosebleed in years but never connected it to the jab . Nothing since .

frugalkitty · 13/12/2021 08:52

My DS had eight nosebleeds the day he had his first jab! He's still getting one most days (because he's gone to uni and not got round to sorting an appointment to get it seen to). He's prone to nosebleeds though and had had a year without any after the hospital cauterised his nose after they'd started again on roaccutane. I phoned the medical centre at uni before he went and they said he'll be able to have it cauterised again there (they're used to doing it with lots of sporting injuries).
Hope yours has stopped ok now OP.
