Anyone 'lost' their pcr results?

Got symptoms. Cough headache, shivering, tummy aches, nausea and constant snottiness. And soooooo tired.

Went to a walk-in yesterday morning and came straight home. And still waiting. And waiting.

Still working as I have a work laptop, I just want to drop my head on the table and sleep. Blood ox has gone from what is normally 98/99 to 94.

Ltf was negative then positive and then negative again. ( yes I did a few). Ugh.

Until I get a test result work are expecting me to carry on at home. Double ugh.

How long did you wait? Considering ordering another one to do at home.

And now I can't sleep even though I'm

My results have varied from six hours to 4 days. If you feel too unwell to work then you need to ring in sick. Covid is not the only illness which could cause you to be too ill to work.

Akire · 12/12/2021 01:55

Least 36h if they send them off at the end of day yesterday , they would have arrived this morning and started working on them so expect it to be in next 12h or so. You can be very unwell with covid whether or not your result gets back on 4h or 48. Different if you feel well, pushing yourself at this point will make any covid crash feel even worse. Trust me I felt fine day 3-4 then 10 days in bed.

If you’re sick, you’re sick. What difference (from a sick leave point of view) does it make whether it is due to Covid or not?

KeyWorker · 12/12/2021 03:14

You can be Ill with something other than COVID. On the other hand, you may be COVID positive and still fit to work (from home). If you are unwell then phone in sick.

DropYourSword · 12/12/2021 03:49

I thought with LFT’s that if they say positive you can be sure you are positive?

Moonlitdoor · 12/12/2021 04:09

If you have a positive LFT your PCR is almost certainly going to be positive. You sound too sick to work whatever you have. Hope you feel better soon.

liveforsummer · 12/12/2021 04:44

Well I'm still waiting for results from November 2020 so sometimes they never turn up however you're still within the 3 days so definitely too soon to worry. Agree with others that surely if your ill your ill and it's not only covid that lets you off work. You could be more ill with something else than you are with covid, it makes no sense

bagginses · 12/12/2021 07:54

I’m covid positive- results within 1 day. Sent DH and DD for pCR Friday. DH had his back yesterday 4pm but DD nowhere to be seen- despite having them at exactly the same time!

bagginses · 12/12/2021 07:55

Also yes, if you’re I’ll you’re ill regardless of if it’s covid or not!!

AgnesNaismith · 12/12/2021 07:56

Your oxygen levels are abnormal - you need to call 111

MalbecandToast · 12/12/2021 07:57

Yes if your too ill to work then just report as sick Confused

Starlightstarbright1 · 12/12/2021 08:00

You sound sick. If oxygen levels are dropping you do need advice.

You are not well enough to work covid isn't the only reason you can be sick

NothingIsWrong · 12/12/2021 08:05

I had tonsillitis last week. Negative tests but I was definitely too ill to work on one day. Tell work you are sick and not working that day?

Echobelly · 12/12/2021 08:10

It's totally normal not to have PCR test by now.... between me and my kids we've had over a dozen tests and I've never had them in less than 16 hours, if you haven't had them in 48 hours that would be unusual, but there's no reason to believe they're lost.

OP, you are too ill to work, you need to rest - hope you feel better soon and do call 99 if you have any difficulty breathing.

DukeofEarlGrey · 12/12/2021 08:52

LFTs don’t tend to give false positives, only false negatives, so it’s likely you have it. And your blood oxygen is too low OP - the number dropping can be a precursor to getting worse so you should be prioritising your recovery and not worrying about proving anything to work. Hope you make a quick recovery.

Hopefullywaiting01234 · 12/12/2021 09:00

If you’re sick you’re sick, whether it is covid or not.

You could have covid and feel normal and be able to work from home or you could have another virus and be floored. I don’t see where you’re work are coming from, just tell them you are not fit to work x
