Keen to hear how others found cafcass, particularly at section 7 stage.

A total car crash. sorry.

They asked my son leading questions/told him how he felt. He was crushed by the process

How long ago was this?

Last year. it was during the covid pandemic (he was refusing to see his dad because his dad put him in a lot of danger )

What was their recommendation? Did your judge agree?

3 Cafcass officers over 8 years. One very hardworking, wrote sensible things, helpful etc. One man who stayed in post about 5 minutes. And one who was an absolute loon, terrible judgement and a danger to children (through her judgements). The solicitor’s (mine and ex’s) chatted with me in the court foyer to say they were glad she had retired as she was a waste of space and a “loose cannon”!

Oh, I had fourth one who forgot to come to court!!

We've just had a cafcass officer appointed to do the section 7.. I cannot gauge what to expect. Although, my daughter has a local authority social worker who has contacted the officer she's stated that her preliminary assertion based on what she's reviewed so far is to challenge supervised contact and the risks it poses.
I'm hoping that's a good sign.
