Has anyone managed to stop doing this before? Keep chewing the skin round my nails & it looks awful 🥲

I'd love to know this. I don't know I'm doing it half the time until I've been chewing away. My thumb and my little finger on one hand look awful. I'd love to stop, just not sure how

I did this for years. Not nail biting, just the skin and they were so sore.
My nails were nothing to look at either.
I started by looking after my nails and painting them in a clear varnish. They still didn't look great with all the raggedy skin around them, but they began to look better. Then my nails looked so nice from the manicure, that I stopped the biting.
They look good now and so nice I don't feel the urge to bite anymore.
🙂

I used to do this and chew my nails.

It wasn't until I got on top of my anxiety it stopped.

My adhd dd used to do this a lot.
I got her some chewlery. Chewable jewellery.
Silicon shapes in fun colours and different textures.
Nothing can stop her urge to chew, but these are safe and easier to replace than fingers.
She tends to go mad on them for a couple of days. Then doesn't bother for a few days.
Worth a try for a few quid?
