Young adults travelling independently

I was never a particularly adventurous teenager, but dd is keen to visit Greece with a couple of friends after her a levels next summer.

They are relatively sensible girls but she’s not travelled with us very much and is rather naive. Are there package holidays for young adults that are not full on club 18-30?
I’d really appreciate some advice on what to steer her towards where there would be a bit of support and be clean and safe.
Thanks

Package holiday wouldn't be the answer: sticking together with her friends is.

Talk to her about boundaries, maybe suggest that if she or her friends do want to go back home with a boy, they go to their own hotel room, so that they aren't somewhere unfamiliar. Unfortunately means friends will have to wait outside by the pool or lobby though!

For booking the hotel, try and get a room that isn't on the ground floor. I remember a girls holiday where we were on the ground floor with no air-conditioning in August, so we had to leave the window open as it was so hot, and I was worried someone would climb in as it was by a busy road. We also had a group of lads who tried to follow us back to our hotel even though we clearly weren't interested, they were very pushy and we ended up walking into a different hotel so they didn't know where we were actually staying.

But obviously things like that aren't unique to being abroad unfortunately. I travelled lots in youth hostels as a teenager and didn't have any problems, but I found that we got more hassle in Zante in Greece than in European cities.

Whereabouts does she want to go? Does she want a clubbing holiday?

What kind of holiday is she after?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 11/12/2021 11:15

how about interrail?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 11/12/2021 11:24

or can they get an air bnb

She’s going to Greece not the Gaza Strip.
They need to get together and decide what they want to do (culture/beach/partying) chose a location, find nearest airport and book accommodation.
Agree sticking together is more important than the package

agree, dont leave anyone behind, stick together, rules for life
