Driving advice

Need some advice with driving…
I passed my driving test just before lockdown! I was a fairly confident driver and would drive to work and college with no issues. Then lockdown hit and the only place I drove was the local supermarket to pick up my shopping! Then DH lost his job and we were strapped for cash so I sold my little Corsa and barely drove for 18 months. I inherited my dad’s car but I’ve lost all confidence! I’ve made a few silly mistakes like stalling and I’ve hit the curb a few times. I’ve even bumped someone’s car in the car park and felt mortified! Now I have massive anxiety about driving! I’ve booked a few refresher lessons and my first one went quite well but it was a smaller car and I had someone with me, obviously!
I don’t know whether to just bite the bullet and go for a long trip to regain my confidence or build it back up slowly?
Has anyone else been in this situation?

I would build back up slowly.
Try and go out and drive round the roads you know well for 30mins or an hour each day, or as often as is realistic, then build it up.
Practice in an empty car park, parking and manoeuvring to get your clutch control better whilst not worrying about other traffic.

Go out and practice!

I didn't feel confident when I learned so I would just go out for a little pootle every evening for 20 mins or so. Got my confidence up!

I’m on mirtazapine. Do you think it could be a factor?
