I noticed a lump in my 6 year olds neck about 3 months ago now which i assumed was a swollen gland so i ignored it (it was small pea sized and only just visible) . I noticed a few weeks ago it was still there but now i could feel two ( probably because i looked!) . I took her to the gp who did sone blood tests.

Got the results of the blood test in an email which said that her FBC (?) was slightly out of range but the gp thought that was due to her excema . She had excema as a baby but not for years now.

The gp said no further action needed so i was happy with that. Tonight i was brushing her hair and i noticed she still had those two abd i noticed another one lower down near het collarbone which is small and you can feel it but not see it.

I dont normally have anxiety about health issues but i am obsessing about this like a crazy person. The gp had made it pretty clear in the email he isnt worried so why cant i just let this go!!

Can you please have a word with me and tell me lts normal to feel these and im being really odd!

I had this anxiety! Noticed my daughters lymph node on her neck was really obvious. I have health anxiety when it comes to myself but I’m usually really practical when it comes to my kids. I had a really bad Xmas due to thinking the worst about this protruding node. Apparently their skin is thin it’s common for them to be obvious. Sometimes after an illness the node doesn’t always shrink back. My daughter had chicken pox prior to me noticing this node and my dr put it down to that. She was 3 then and is happy and healthy 8 year old now (and I can still see the node!)

Yes I can feel my 6 year old's on his neck too. I've always been able to. Also worried and had his bloods checked (this was ateazt 2yrs ago and all was fine). They're still there. I think they're just more noticeable at that age in general. Also experienced the same with my other child when they were younger.
