Stupid things you’ve done lately - I win

Driving 25 years and today I forgot to put the handbrake on the car! It crashed into my mums pillar/gate and caused at least €1,500 damage to the car! It has been a shitty week in general but the rest was outside of my control - this was completely avoidable!

Anyone want to join in?

Oh no! That sucks op, right before Christmas too Sad

My stupid moment was last week. I put Ds4 in the car then went round the back to put some shopping in the boot. He decided to close his door by himself but managed to trap his little fingers in the inside by the hinges. I've never heard him scream so loud. In a panic, I flung the shopping in and slammed the boot, trapping my own fingers inside! It hurt like a bastard and I had to flag down a pedestrian to free us both.

Omg! You poor things Sad Did either of you break any fingers?

Ah poor you Flowers

But in proper 'it could've been worse' style, my BIL forgot to put the handbrake on and ran over his wife! Broke her hip, and damaged the car. And their fence!

GoldenOldBoy · 10/12/2021 19:02

@GreenLunchBox Thankfully no! I've never been more grateful for my cheap, poorly made car.

Makes mine seem really minor and daft... shook the brown sauce... the lid wasn't on right... it went up one wall, across the ceiling and down the (cloth - sob...) slatted window blind.

I had a little cry.

I turned up one week late for my holiday. I only found out because the owner of the firm I go with, a personal friend, e mailed me to ask where the fuck I was. Cost me £500 to pay for an apartment for the week, after the week I actually flew over, if you see what I mean.

Another time, I booked a flight home that left at 2:30. I thought it was 14:30. That one cost me about £400 for another flight.

I think I'm cursed. This year I fell and banged my head (two black eyes, many and various bruises and cuts), ended up on a back board and neck brace for 48hours, nil by mouth, while they got me off the small island to the nearest hospital, ex rayed to ensure I hadn't cracked my skull, I hadn't.

I'm normally competent, honestly

I squashed the ‘empty’ toilet cleaner bottle for the recycling bag - bright green toilet cleaner all up my newly plastered and painted wall
