Book recommendations please

Something happy please. Grandmother in law wants books for Christmas. Something cheerful. Any ideas?

Does she like small children? Something by Gervase Phinn?

Away With The Penguins by Hazel Prior is a lovely, heartwarming read with an older heroine.

The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan? Feel good rather than cheerful, perhaps.

OP if you post this in the What We're Reading thread you will get lots of ideas.

In fact, there was a PP looking for books for her elderly mum recently, and she got some excellent suggestions.
