Anyone remember nouvelle cuisine where you would get three artfully arranged peas and and a fishcake the size of a pin head?
Well I think it's back.
I went for a pub lunch at a gastro type pub with a friend and we got miniscule portions, with a spattering of "jus".
We had to order three lots of chips to go with it just to get enough food and it came to £80 for both of us.
I only had soup and the bowl had a tiny portion of soup in it and a mint leaf.
I visited another restaurant and asked to see some pictures of the food and it was exactly the same, hand picked mushrooms and locally sourced food but again tiny tiny portions.
I didn't book a table. Its like masterchef everywhere.
I don't even live in London I live in Somerset.
I don't eat much day to day but when I go ut for a meal I do not expect to leave the table still hungry.
Has anyone else noticed this?
