I am so blessed. I have a career I’m okay at and is okay paid. I’m married very happily and have two children who have their challenges but are good people.

The thing is I never laugh. Like I used to with my best friend as a teenager. I think comedies are funny. I love motherland. For example. But I never laugh like I used to. Like real joy

I’ve watched It crowd, derry girls What they do in the shadows.
What else is funny? Or am I just a sour cow?

How and what gives you pure joy?

I have to say some Mumsnet classics threads have had me in absolute stitches, so worth a browse!

VitalsStable · 08/12/2021 23:05

2 Doors Down. We bowled with laughter

Weesweetiewife · 08/12/2021 23:07

Still game from beginning

Balthazaria · 08/12/2021 23:13

Gogglebox always cracks me up. I'm not really a reality tv fan and I don't catch it often but when I do, it makes me laugh out loud.

I miss those massive laughing fits too OP.

Last time I laughed hard was when something absurd made DH laugh, then he completely lost it which made everyone in the room crack up. It's infectious. Hadn't felt so good in ages. Grin

Redshoeblueshoe · 08/12/2021 23:14

Absolutely have a look at classics.

Forgetaboutme · 08/12/2021 23:17

The only thing that makes me laugh out loud is having a carry on. Like being silly at the beach or dancing about silly with my kids etc. I love comedies but they dont make me laugh out loud.

BlueFlavour · 08/12/2021 23:20

You need to watch a toddler dancing Grin

LowlyTheWorm · 08/12/2021 23:22

Look up the lawyer who ended up with a cat filter on a live conference thing on YouTube.

I actually snorted and cried with laughter at that.

MrsFin · 08/12/2021 23:42

What's brown and sticky?

A stick.

Makes me laugh every time.

FlibbertyGiblets · 08/12/2021 23:47

Did you hear about the magic tractor?
IT TURNED INTO A FIELD.

lashy · 09/12/2021 00:05

I second '2 Doors Down', which a PP mentioned. Also recently rewatched Vicar of Dibley (the one about the three Christmas Dinners) - I hadn't laughed so much in ages! Love Dawn French and that series was wonderful!

GTAlogic · 09/12/2021 00:20

Ghosts is funny.

I was reading some auto-correct fails last night and laughed at them.

Funny memes can be hilarious but it depends on your sense of humour.

MrsPleasant · 09/12/2021 00:32

I recommend watching Taskmaster. Hilarious.

Bloodybridget · 09/12/2021 00:47

Professor Robert Kelly's live interview on BBC news still cracks me up.

Missisip · 09/12/2021 01:48

Love Taskmaster. Check out some stand up clips on YouTube:
Sarah Millican, Peter Kay, Kevin Bridges, Greg Davies…
My absolute go to for a belly laugh is the 90s series : Bottom.

And Pearl Jam misheard lyrics

Lord, these are old. I guess I’m in the same boat as you.

Igotstoknow · 09/12/2021 02:26

Watch dinnerladies.

Kyliealwayshadthebestdisco · 09/12/2021 04:09

Crazy ex girlfriend on Netflix, it is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen and I like the same programmes you do. Catastrophe is also good as is Defending the Guilty.

Blueuggboots · 09/12/2021 04:38

I've just listened to Miriam Margoyles' new book, that made me laugh out loud a few times.

Oh yea.

The one where she jumps in the puddle gets me every time!

Also only fools and horses where he tries to lean on the bar that's been lifted!
