What are you getting your 13-14 year old DD for Christmas?

MaybeAMoaner · 08/12/2021 19:43

Specifically the smaller or surprise gifts?

My DD wants a new phone (disappointingly! Gone are the days of toys & games)

But she has given NO ideas of anything else and I’m totally stuck for ideas.
Help!

We've bought DD a cross body bag, some UGG slippers that she wanted that we found on sale, some cosmetic and skincare bits and then some small wrap ups.

@Blossom64265 what’s the deal gouache paint? Is is special?
Dd is an art student, are these really good quality?
For pp who asked, posca pens have been really popular with both my dds, the colour saturation is apparently excellent!

Nonicknamesforcatapillars · 09/12/2021 07:02

Dd2 is getting money and clothes as her main gifts. Other than that she has.

Some books
A drawing pad and pens
A fleece blanket with a fave celebrity printed in it (her request)
Pyjamas
A slush puppy maker cup.
A Pandora ring.
Lots of random small stocking bits, smellies, make up, sweets, note pads etc etc.

Blossom64265 · 09/12/2021 13:03

I don’t fully understand gouache paint. I did enough research to figure out that it is different than what I was familiar with and that if you get the real stuff not “acrylic gouache” it gets very expensive. Something about layers rewetting. Honestly. I pretty much just let her run with this stuff at this point so only spent long enough on it to make sure I was buying the right thing, I got a small student grade set from a brand that popped up on lists on good quality paint.
