I've been to the hygienist today

I always used to go every 6 months or so and braced myself for a good telling off and lots of discomfort.

I haven't been since the beginning of lockdown so there was plenty of work to do.

OMG what a different experience today. It was a very young woman who was just so pleasant and helpful. I guess she said the same stuff but managed to do it without giving me a dressing down. Pain free, she didn't catch any sensitive spots, but most of all my teeth! They are glowing. I had actually booked in for a consultation for teeth whitening next week and now I'm considering cancelling! A really visible difference in the appearance of my teeth.

Is this how it should be and I'd had substandard treatment before or have I found someone exceptional?

I had a hand scale from the hygienist a few weeks ago. It was far superior to the crap wee attempt with the wizzy thing by the dentist.

Yes I’ve had mixed results, one was so painful and rough that I had blood on my goggles

My current hygienist is really gentle and gets much better results

Oh yes, a visit to a good and nice hygienist is so worth it. Lucky you with your nice, sparkling teeth. I really need to make myself an appointment.
