People of SHEFFIELD….

I need your help
I have 4 hours to kill in Sheffield today whilst I take DM to a hospital appt (Royal Hallamshire) and pick her up again. They don’t really want me hanging out in the hospital, and it’s a bit far to go home (and I don’t know accurately when DM will be free).

I was planning to go for a run and then hunker down in the Weston Park museum cafe with some work, but it’s chucking down with rain here (20 miles N of Sheff) and the cafe is closed today. Second choice would have been John Lewis’ cafe, but JL is no more.

Can anyone suggest somewhere I can work within say 20 mins walk RH hospital? Due to the nature of DM’s treatment I don’t want to be anywhere super busy. If I can be somewhere where I’m unlikely to need to be near anyone else, that would be ideal.

I used to live in Sheffield, I know roads but not current places.

Could you walk down to Hunters Bar (about 15-20 mins) lots of independent cafes etc

There's a Starbucks next to Children's.
Or if you walk up to Broomhil there's Costa and other cafes. Not as nice as the JL cafe was Sad

Thanks @wanderlove, I was coming round to that plan. Used to live on the other side of Endcliffe Park.

As it happens, a fast asleep teenage driver rammed into the back of my car on the Parkway and I have spent most of the morning talking to the police and insurance from the Q parks multi-storey by the women’s hospital.
