Hi

I recently started a new job where we are currently all working from home. I've not met any of my team in person yet but they seem a nice bunch.

A few weeks ago my manager asked us if anyone would like to organize a fun quiz for the team to do over Zoom as a team bonding exercise.

I dont know why but I put my hand up and now I've got to organize something really quickly.

Can anyone give me any ideas on what kinds of Quizzes are fun to do on Zoom? And where can I look for inspiration?. It's got to last about 20mins.

Thanks

Have a look at Kahoot. Lots of ready made quizzes there.
You can share your screen on Zoom to pose the questions, with players using their phones to submit answers, ans Kahoot keeping a real time tally of the scores.

I'd go christmas themed. And shove it all on a PowerPoint if you can do share screen.

Round one - Google some traditions around the globe, have the contestants guess which country they are from

Round two - ten christmas songs with only the vowels given. they have to fill in the blanks to guess the song name

Round three - obscure xmas movie facts (eg how much did the pizza delivery guy want at the start of Home Alone / name of the building from die hard)

Round 4 - match the number to the objects for all 12 lines in "12 days of christmas" song

A colleague did a multiple choice one created using Kahoot - theme was 1980s music so a track played and we had to press which of 4 choices it was as fast as possible from our phone - the built in scoring takes into account who is right and speed of answers so you can see the updated leaderboard after each question . Obviously requires some set up and everyone to use their phone too but works really well.

Our best quiz was one we did about each other! Everyone had to send us baby photo/pet photo, funny stories, sporting achievements etc, favourite song, 2 truths and a lie. We made quiz questions out of the submissions and loaded up to Kahoot for people to play along.

So “who ran the London Marathon under 4 hours in 2018”, multiple choice between 4 team members as answers. Dog picture- “who does Missy the labrador belong to?” Etc etc.

Was a fun way to include the stuff we’ve learnt about each other over working from home and also learn new stuff about each other- I learnt a colleague I had worked with for years got charged by a hippo on honeymoon etc! For the 2 truths and a lie for one person we had to guess which famous person he hadn’t met out of the Queen, Kanye, the Brazilian President and Prince Charles 😱 (team member lives in Buenos Aires….)
