Spam me with champagne!

So, when we got married we were given the most beautiful champagne, nothing I'd heard of before, but I vaguely remember googling it and it was £50-£60 per bottle. Just the right amount of fizz, slight citrus taste, sweeter than I'd expect.
I know I'd recognise the bottle and name together, so please, can you help me find it?
Wish I could remember who bought that particular bottle, I didn't think anyone liked us that much!
I'd love to get some in for our anniversary 😍
Please, spam away 😊

Can you remember the colour of the label?

Carpetsareforflying · 07/12/2021 22:26

I want to say cream, but we got 4 bottles, but I would defo recognise the 'total package' so to speak. I think the name is in my head somewhere, I just need to remember 🤦🏻‍♀️

4 different bottles should I say. It's definitely not something common like moet.

We had Canard Duchene for our wedding and then went to Reims and bought a case load. It sounds similar to what you’ve described.

I was just about to suggest the same one!

Louis Roederer?

Iamthewombat · 07/12/2021 22:42

Normal shaped champagne bottle or bell shaped?

Was it Ruinart?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/12/2021 22:44

I was going to say Louis Roederer but I have been beaten to it

Rochim20 · 07/12/2021 23:03

From top of my head:
Ayala Perle d'Ayala
Bruno Paillard Premiere Cuvee
Perrier Jouet Grand Brut (though I think that's more a well known one)

I want to know now Grin

Newcomer68 · 07/12/2021 23:46

When was your wedding? Might help narrow it down?

Verite1 · 08/12/2021 00:24

Pol Roger?

Verite1 · 08/12/2021 00:27

Laurent Perrier. Pretty well known but has a white label

Hodl · 08/12/2021 00:44

Pommery?

We had Gosset at our wedding, DH kept calling it gusset 😂

PermanentTemporary · 08/12/2021 00:52

Taittinger? Label a bit white though

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/12/2021 03:05

Ignore the fact that it's called The Whiskey Exchange but they do sell champagne & stock many different brands.

If you remember the champagne tasting sweeter than what you expected it may have been Sec or Demi -Sec (sweeter) style rather than Brut (which is dry)

Dogsandbabies · 08/12/2021 04:08

Could it be Nyetimber wine instead if champagne?

MinnieMountain · 08/12/2021 06:59

Gossett?

Found it, forgotten I'd wrote this thread, but this is it, thanks to whoever sent that link for the whiskey exchange 🙂

I was coming to say Veuve, it is the most delicious champagne

Surprised you haven’t heard of it before though, it’s pretty popular! Enjoy OP and happy anniversary!

BriocheForBreakfast · 17/12/2021 09:42

We had Veuve Cliquot at our wedding but I was wondering if it was Taittinger too.

For something a bit different, but still delicious, try sparkling ice wine. It’s like winter in a glass.
