Too tired to do anything in the evenings

Does anyone else feel like this?
I've felt like this for years although it's got gradually worse, and of course in winter it's worse still!
I'm not concerned it's anything medical - have recently had a very thorough blood test panel done and have mentioned this to GP over the years and they are unconcerned.
What has prompted this thread is that I started an exercise class a couple of months ago that started at 8pm. I went a couple of times but after that I just couldn't bring myself to go out in the cold and dark and I stopped going. Then more recently a friend invited me to the cinema for an 8.30pm showing - film would have ended at 11.15pm then I'd have to drive home. I would like to go but just thinking about it makes me feel sleepy!
I know it's not just me as I have spoken to a couple of other people about the exercise class and they agreed they wouldn't want to go at that time either 😂 but I'm wondering how much in the minority I am.
I used to be a total night owl in my teens and twenties and would regularly be up until 3/4/5 am but since having kids I am just permanently exhausted. I'm early 40s. Is there anything I can do to increase the energy levels as I have a Christmas night out soon?

Are you me? 😂

Right with you and following with interest. Hedgehogs have got it right. I take vitamin D, have a SAD lamp, keep hydrated, try to be positive but secretly could quite happily go to bed with a stack of books and snacks until Spring. The miserable weather doesn't help.

The weather doesn't help, but I'm in a routine where I'm ready for bed by 10.30pm at the latest, and I like to have a sit down and read/relax for at least an hour beforehand.

I'm not rigid about it and still have occasional nights out and might have considered the trip to the cinema, but a regular 8pm exercise class would definitely not work for me.

Honestly this is exactly how I feel. I just want to hibernate!

I go running early at about 6.30am. It sets me up for the day. I've also cut down on the booze and try to eat healthily. If i stay in I'm asleep on the sofa by 10pm but i have enough stamina to go out in the evenings. I'm 51

I find the more I exercise the more energy I have,

A few months ago I was at the peak of fitness, I have now stopped exercising and feel so tired of an evening, but with this weather, hot chocolate, biscuits, chocolate and crisps snuggled in the sofa wins everytime Shock

Wish I could blame alcohol but I don't drink at all unless it's a special occasion. I eat a fairly healthy diet but could be better.

I've just woken up after falling asleep putting the kids to bed. There's wine and snacks downstairs. I really want to just stay here in bed Confused

No, I’m an early bird. Exercise first thing, I can’t do it later. I can manage yoga straight after work but there’s no way I’d want to do anything more strenuous or any later. I like my weekday evenings to be long, slow wind-downs. In fact if I’m not safely installed on the sofa with no further plans by about 8:30, it makes me very unhappy. I don’t answer the phone or check emails or social media after about nine either, just in case something stressful comes up 😂

Yes the same for me. I'm in a good routine now of some kind of yoga or exercise video at home in the evenings once dd is in bed and I have loads more energy now.
