Transport advice needed for trip

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip back to the UK that keeps getting postponed because of all the travel changes, but that's another story. Anyways, I've been looking at bnbs to stay for my month-long trip while I look for a rental in the Surrey/Richmond area and I found bnbs in these areas:

  • Bagshot - Bagshot station - 20 mins walk
  • East Molesey - Hampton court station - 15 - 20 mins walk
  • Hounslow (the place is on the border of Twickenham) - the station is 10 mins walk, I'm assuming it's Hounslow station, but will have to check.
  • haven't read flattering things about this area, but I don't know as I've never been.

side note: other areas are available but too expensive for a month.

I will be working remotely and visiting Richmond, Kew, Windsor, and maybe London to see some sites, but the London part will be later on.

So here are my questions:

  • Is it is a pain to just show up and buy tickets from the station? Should I get them in advance?
  • If the ticket I purchase from let's say Bagshot includes a TFL transfer, do I need an Oyster card for train transfers in my journey? I've read conflicting info on this. As far as I know, it should be part of the ticket, but if actually traveling within London, then I should have an OC.
  • Is Uber good to use for the odd trip while I'm viewing properties to rent? or do you recommend another service?

Thank you in advance :)
