Ridiculous question(s) about going to a concert

I'm going to a concert tonight for the first time in...erm...decades! And I'm a bit unclear about the protocol. It's an EDM / dance act, so no seats. Doors open at 7.

I'm assuming people will be queuing much earlier than 7 to get a good standing / dancing position...not sure if I'm that bothered though...maybe it'll be fine being at the back?

Also, do you think I can take a bag? Or is there likely to be a cloakroom? It's miserable weather here, but I imagine it'll be quite hot in the venue. Do you think there will be drinks?

Any tips for anything else?

Where is it? If it a proper venue (arena or something) that’ll be slightly different to a pop up venue (like steelworks) or warehouse venue.

Getting there for doors is fine, there might be a cloakroom if it’s a proper venue, if a pop up it’s unlikely. BUT lots of places do have cloakrooms still closed.

You can take a bag but size etc will depend on the venue - some only let small ones in, some want a clear bag etc. check the venue website.

Take a jacket you can tie around your waist.

There will be drinks.

Can you say which venue and people can give specific advice?

It's the O2 academy edinburgh.

No bag. Jacket around waist. Don't get there too early as things shift around if multiple acts. Double fist drinks so don't have to keep going back when main act on.
