My children want to write a letter to the Queen and a few other celebrities. Has anyone had a response? Of so what?

Years ago on here I talked about job my DD, then 3, adored Rick Stein cooking shows. Another Mnetter was part of his team and got him to send DD a personal signed photo, which still has pride of place in the kitchen even now!

My DD wrote to Dr Chris and Dr Xand to tell them that she wants to be a paediatrician when she grows up. Two years later she got an autographed postcard from them 😂

We met Chris, Xand and Ronx at a live event. The three of them were absolute troopers, sat and took photos with lines of people. Spent hours there. And one of them was clearly ill.

Back in the late sixties, my friend was teaching in an inner-city primary school in Manchester. The Year 6 class did a version of a Shakespeare play for their Christmas concert, and she sent photos and letters from the children to Sir Laurence Olivier! They received a lovely hand written letter back which started "Dear fellow-actors..."! And some photos of him in various Shakespeare plays. She had the letter and photos framed in the school hall, and I bet they are there to this day!

DS wrote to Jamie Oliver for an autograph when he was younger even included an SAE-nothing. Jamie Oliver owes him the price of a stamp. Angry

He also wrote to Jeremy Clarkson, didn't include an SAE and got a reply.

When DS was little he loved wildlife programmes. He wrote to Sir David Attenborough and had a lovely, personalised signed photo. He also wrote twice to Steve Backshall (not sure I've spelt that correctly) and got no reply. He also loved the 13 story tree house series and really enjoyed drawing, he wrote to the illustrator who replied with a drawing for him and a lovely encouraging note. When the next book in the series was released there was a tiny drawing of a little boy with DS's name on one of the pages, DS was thrilled and convinced it was him.
