Im so confused.

Im booked to visit family in germany. I know I need to fill in a locator form and book a covid test for 2 days after getting home. Can anyone tell me if I now also need a covid test sometime in the 2 days before getting the flight home. I’ve read so much info im utterly confused now. Thank you.

From today you need a negative test before you travel to the UK.

You also need to quarantine in the UK until you receive the result of your day 2 test.

Useful info

Yes, you need a negative lft or PCR within the 48 hours (not 2 calendar days) before you fly back.

The info in the general .gov covid website is misleading - read this:

Even the govt can’t make sense of the govt restrictions (its 48 hours not the 2 days they say on their site)

Hopefully, they'll sort it out soon but everywhere that was stocking LFTs where my DD is in Germany has none, so obviously be prepared to pay for a PCR both ways.

I am in the same situation, going away for a week over Christmas. Presumably I can just buy the LFTs before I go and take them in my suitcase to do there?

(In the 48 hours before my flight back I mean.)

Thanks everyone. It's all such a hassle .
