Talk to me about Amazon Prime?

I have just got a 'free' subscription to Amazon Prime (for the free delivery) but looked at the TV packages yesterday.

I can't see anything on there that I really fancied, but remembered Chernobyl as being recommended on here - but when I looked at it, it seemed to suggest that it would cost me £2.50 for each episode? Is this right?
We eventually watched something by James May in Japan, which was free.

I thought it was all free - paid for by the subscription? Is it maybe because I haven't paid anything yet?

Go to the prime home page, top right corner should be a slider for 'free to me', assuming you're logged in.

NotJustACigar · 07/12/2021 18:45

You also get a free first reads kindle book with prime.
Also I really dislike Jeremy Clarkson as a person but enjoyed watching Clarksons Farm anyway.

A great thing about prime is other people can use it too, perfectly legally. My sister is logged into my account and my bil watched the man u match the other night. (Although I've had no thanks or offer of recompense! Pfft. Relatives! 🤔🙂 )

It's so so. It's not amazing but the overall package of the tv and the delivery is fairly priced and cheap.

We find it pretty good for films. We can put it on and find a decent film to watch for free pretty easily. Dp has watched a fair few series. We also enjoy the sport occasional football, rugby and tennis.

We have disney plus and prime currently, we can always find something to watch. I cancelled our netflix subscription last November and haven't missed it.

lorca · 08/12/2021 08:52

That's interesting that you cancelled your Netflix, DeathMetalMum. I wasn't sure which would be more useful. Although we dont really watch a great deal of films. DP falls asleep and I just haven't got the attention span anymore!

I am kicking myself that I didn't get Amazon last month for the Rugby Autumn Internationals. We had to go to the pub to watch most games (which turns out much much more expensive!)

I'll give Clarkson a go, - anyone else finding that terrestrial TV (and even Virgin) is so crap atm? Full of repeats, or reality crap, or gregg wallace-type cringe?

Well, what do you know? Thanks.

it's one of the menu options at the top of our TV screen - it's not on mine! I looked yesterday and it's def not there, and not in settings either. Sad

@Wokemon

Chernobyl was originally on sky, that's why it costs money.
It's free on sky I think

@CounsellorTroi

Slightly off topic but Frasier is now available to stream for free on All4.
Thank you for the heads up!

@JovialNickname

Clarksons Farm is free on Prime,and is really good (even if you're not a massive Jeremy Clarkson fan it's really funny/interesting)
Came on to say this.

It must be there, there isn't a special version just for you Grin

Are you sure you're on the prime video home page?

M0rT · 10/12/2021 15:03

If you like sci-fi the expanse is brilliant and free on prime for me. I'm in Ireland but assume it's the UK version we get.
