Neighbours smoking weed

I'm feeling slightly worried tonight. Attached neighbours frequently smoke weed and it seeps through the walls into our house. I hate the smell but what worries me the most is our 3 children, one being 5 months old. Will it affect them in any way? Make them poorly?

They are also smoking it with young children present. Children are just visitors but still. They haven't lived there long so don't really know much about them.

They definitely deal and make no attempt to hide it. Don't really want to confront them as I've heard the rages and threats to whoever is on the other end of the phone, wouldn't want to get on their bad side! We have, however, reported via crimestoppers. My main concern is the effect of what's seeping through the walls on my children.

No your kids won't get stoned from weed being smoked on the otherwise of a wall.

You have my sympathy OP. There was a lad who smoked jt in a small copse about 20 metres from my house and I could smell it inside sometimes. If we were outside at the time it smelt like someone had lit a weed bonfire.

My point is, it can really stink but kids won't get stoned off the smell.

Keep making complaints, hopefully if there are enough the police will send someone to have a chat.

I doubt it’s seeping through the walls. It just doesn’t work like that. It sounds like you are anxious about it and have developed a belief that it’s seeping through the walls.

Unpleasant but no it won't harm your children x

My neighbours used to smoke it in their garden and it came through the air vents into my house.

Stank to high heaven.

If yours are housing association tenants I’d report them. I don’t know if you can do this anonymously.

Selfish pigs. I'd put them on an island

Well smoke can't come through walls so it's either getting in through open windows, happy windows or an air brick. I'd be looking for the source of the smell with a view to blocking it. Wouldnt want my kids living w that. Awful for you.

SaltedCaramelHC · 07/12/2021 06:59

I have this too, in my flat. It comes it through air vents, under doors, etc, and it can be really strong. There's no way to block it off, as we need the air vents for ventilation.

Almost daily I get the smell piped in, and although it's not as bad as cigarette smoke, it's still really horrible and really strong.

I think people who smoke (either tobacco or weed) don't honestly believe how much it smells to non-smokers!

ANameChangeAgain · 07/12/2021 07:06

If you can smell it, aren't you inhaling it? They call it passive smoking with cigarette smoke. It smells like fox piss and I would hate it in my home. A good friend smokes home grown cannabis, but uses a man cave at the bottom of his garden so his children can't inhale it.
