Looking for a cheap GPS running watch. Any recommendations?

Dd (14) has started parkrunning with me. I want to get her a GPS watch that works with strava for her for Christmas. I don't need it to do anything too fancy and only want to spend around £50 on case she stops running. Can anyone recommend please? I've been going back and forth looking at them and it's surprisingly difficult to see which models upload to strava. Thank you!

I don't think any that cheap have GPS on board, cheaper ones use the GPS on a phone so you might as well use Strava on the phone! The garmin 45 is what I bought a year ago as the cheapest functional running watch at the time. It has been excellent.

Maybe look on ebay for older models like the Garmin 220 - but otherwise you could consider this one -it's way off your budget though: www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Smartwatch-All-day-Monitoring-Features/dp/B08FBGKL8L/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=garmin+venu&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1638798543&sr=8-3

Garmin 35 is a brilliant, idiot-proof GPS watch that you can synch to Strava.

Snag is cost - usually about £85, but if you poke around online you might be able to find them lower.

Or get a secondhand one from eBay. Best bargains are unfirynateiynafter Christmas, when everyone who gitnan uogade as their pressie is flogging off the older (but still perfectly good) ones

Yes that was my worry, that you had to take a phone too which is what I'm trying to avoid. I couldn't work out if I was reading the info correctly. I'll take a look at those ideas, thank you.
