Any of you lovely ladies fractured your humerus bone?
Fell over in bedroom the other eve, landed on DGMs antique chair.
DM was more concerned about state of chair, Ta ma.
When arm started to resemble Popeyes, reluctantly got dragged off to A&E.
After 5 hr wait, arm x rayed and in collar and cuff.
Kept apologising for wasting time "it's only a bruise"
Staff were fantastic but SO many people complaining about the wait.

Sorry to hear this, it’s a real pain, in all senses! I fractured my humerus right at the top, across the ‘ball’ bit. It took months to heal. The worst bit was DH styling and drying my hair😂.
Scary bit waiting for movement to come back to my arm, paralysed for about a week.
It’s really important to do the physiotherapy exercises, as advised by the hospital. I did these religiously and now have fully restored movement in my arm. Good luck.

Thanks for your response.
How long until you were able to move arm?
Am waiting for referral to fracture clinic, finding it so frustrating to have to rely on OH, not let him near hair yet but he has offered to do make up ! Have had many injuries, horse related but nothing comes close to this.

The feeling came back slowly, but after a week or so there was some small movement. I had to use my other had to move it, the fracture consultant told me to make small stirring movements, like stirring a pan, with the help of my good hand. I did this for about 3 weeks until I was referred to the physio.
It took from April to July to be able to drive again.
