Had the procedure earlier this week and have since been "leaking" all day every day since. Almost feels like I am wetting myself but (sorry for the tmi) it smells menstrual.

Has anyone experienced this

I’ve had a few colposcopys and never experienced this, sorry.

Thank you. I will give the GP a ring in the morning then!

Did you have a biopsy at the same time? I had a post procedure infection after mine.

Did you have a lletz at the same time?

I did and I remember leaking fluid. The nurses gave me a sanitary towel to wear home and said I'd need some as I healed up

Ohdoleavemealone · 05/12/2021 19:53

I think I had a biopsy, not sure what a Lletz is.
They basically cut off the bottom of my cervix. I didn't ask much as I was quite upset and cried most of the time.
The doctor was very blunt. Kind but not compassionate.

Lletz is where they use a thin wire loop to remove some of the cervix.

They'd have given you a local anaesthetic in your cervix first

Yes this was it.

Yea I had that too. And I did have some fluid for a few days. So it could just be the same.

If you are worried you could always give them a call.

Ohdoleavemealone · 05/12/2021 20:51

Thank you. It's a little reassuring.

Try not to worry. Your cervix needs to heal.

Did you get a leaflet explaining? I'm sure I got told no sex, baths etc for 2 weeks.

Ohdoleavemealone · 05/12/2021 21:18

I got told no sex or swimming for 6 weeks ! Didn't say anything about baths.

Oh it may have been 6. It was March last year I had mine. Maybe it was running I couldn't do for 2 weeks. I remember being annoyed about something 😂
