Just interested to know other's thoughts.

An absolute disaster for women, safeguarding and science. And that's before we get started on what they would do to the economy

BleuJay · 05/12/2021 17:48

Horrendous.

FlibbertyGiblets · 05/12/2021 17:54

Hopeless. They have not a clue - they would rather squabble amongst themselves about (Joey air quotes) Identity Politics whilst the planet burns.
They do not believe in science.

Have a look in Scotland. They've just joined the government there. Same in Germany.

They’re sounding and acting fairly reasonable, as far as I can tell. Most people act pragmatically don’t they, when actually put in charge?

Hear hear! In a highly competitive field, they are the most anti-woman and anti-safeguarding party in the UK atm.

CovidPassQuestion · 05/12/2021 18:07

Women would no longer exist.

fedup65356 · 05/12/2021 18:10

@CovidPassQuestion

Women would no longer exist.
Why? I don't really know much about their policies other than being left and protecting the environment.

They would absolutely shit themselves. They are campaigners not electable politicians.

If any of them actually wanted a shot at being 'in the job' they'd have focused their career on another party.

FlibbertyGiblets · 05/12/2021 18:16

They believe in magic.
For example they believe that humans can change sex. AMAZING!

Iggly · 05/12/2021 18:18

Why would they be a disaster for science?

PsychoSyd · 05/12/2021 18:18

Have a look at Brighton. The Greens are the majority party on the council there. They got rid of all meat in the council canteen & the bin men went on strike until their bacon butties were reinstated.

EngTech · 05/12/2021 18:19

I’d give them a go

When they don’t deliver, vote in the next party who promises what people want to hear 👍👍👍

See, that’s the thing though. We have the likes of Priti Patel (openly supported the death penalty), Boris Johnson (called people letterboxes and other ridiculous names. Tried to have a fucking garden bridge built over the Thames when there are enough) and Rishi (probably set off a covid wave with eat out to help out).

I can’t see how they could be any fucking worse.

Hoardasurass · 05/12/2021 18:20

@fedup65356 according to the green party a woman is just a nebulous feeling and anyone who claims that they are women are not only women but female to. And yet they claim that they understand the science behind climate change 🤣

It was one day of being meat free 😂🤔

Actually that’s not true. The Greens aren’t all in agreement on this issue?

Hoardasurass · 05/12/2021 18:25

@Iggly maybe maybe not however the official party line is trans women are women. They also have/a tw as co chair of the women's group

Hoardasurass · 05/12/2021 18:26

Should say have/had

Crepuscularshadows · 05/12/2021 18:38

A fucking shitshow, if Scotland is anything to judge by.

True but at least there’s a measure of some
Sensibility there in the party which gives an indication that they’re like other parties in that respect.

Heruka · 05/12/2021 18:42

I’d like to hope things would be better in terms of prospects for the environment, if they were, but unfortunately as pps have said, their stance on women and lgb people’s rights is regressive and dehumanising, and therefore it makes for a depressing prospect.

PicsInRed · 05/12/2021 18:53

It would be a whole lot of white male centred bourgeoising. With recycling.

CalamariGames · 05/12/2021 18:58

I think a lot of us would support policies that are going to help the environment providing they really do help the environment and they don't make life too difficult for people. I noticed all my local councillors from each party emphasised their Green credentials in the last local elections. It's clearly something most people care about. It's the other policies are not related to the environment that we would be divided over.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/12/2021 19:16

Chaotic.

I know someone who works for them - everything by committee, run by committees of volunteers, for whom it’s a lifestyle/hobby/way to make friends, disorganised, not in anyway set up to govern. From what this person says, they’d need a complete overhaul to get anywhere near govt.
