My father worries for England. I'm a 33 year old mother; I've backpacked solo around the world; I've lived abroad; I live in London. Basically I'm not a total idiot or a child.

But he cannot cope with me walking to his from the station if it's dark. He lives in a lovely safe town and it's less than 150m. And yet in the same breath he suggests I put the baby on my knee so he can drive us to the pub, rather than me walk the 5 min myself with the pram. My mind actually boggles.

I can't be the only adult with parents who worry absurdly and about random things?
