Santa costume

My husband has agreed to be santa at a local event. Any ideas for a costume and is it funnier if its inflatable?

If he's staffing the grotto then I think it should be as realistic as possible. I'd imagine your local costume hire place would be the best bet unless the event organisers already have one.
