Claim for accidental damage for phone

Has anyone done this on house insurance?
what was the process and how long did it all take?
as i have no phone now! and i'm waiting for an important call (they may well have rung me and i won't know)

have done it a couple of times through different companies, all seem the same.

Log into your home insurance providers site, go through the claims section then they normally give you a prepaid label to post the broken phone off and receive new/repaired phone in 14-28 days

It says call them but i have no phone to call them on :-(
and a phone is pretty essential
i don't know if i can claim restrospectively after i've bought a new phone or not
