What to do in London...

Of a Monday night? Was supposed to be going to a gig but, surprise surprise, it's been postponed. Unfortunately, travel and accommodation are non-refundable so we are still going but what's fun to do at night except bars ?

May be fairly obvious but I'm completely unfamiliar with London.

Ride on top of a bus to see the West End lights?

Walk along the river or through the City?

Where will you be staying?

Naughtynovembertree · 04/12/2021 08:03

How long do you have? What do you like?
Plan some walking routes?

AppleKatie · 04/12/2021 08:04

Go to the theatre then wander around the Christmas lights late enough so it’s busy but not tanned.

AppleKatie · 04/12/2021 08:05

Or rammed 😂 London is a lot of things but not usually tanned!

New bond Street /fortnum and mason /jermyn Street is a good combination.
Treat yourself to pit stop in f and m or clariges?

Another good route is China Town /soho then stroll up seven dials to Covent garden... Very pretty lots to see and mooch around.
Or and.. Then from Covent garden head to Westminster then over the bridge and stroll along South Bank to Borough Market

We recently did The Crytal Maze Experience. Absolutely brilliant

NuffSaidSam · 04/12/2021 08:12

London is very busy at the moment so I wouldn't plan a nice walk and then drop in somewhere. It's likely to me a nightmare navigating through a see of people and then getting turned away from where you want to go because it's full.

Book tickets for something so you know you're in. I'd go to the theatre or catch a comedy show if that's more your thing. Lots of shows aren't on on a Monday so you'd have to look and see what's happening.

Get theatre tickets

Jabbawasarollingstone · 04/12/2021 08:15

Number 11 bus from Sloane Square towards Liverpool Street. Takes in lot of sights for £1.55.

ohlordabove · 04/12/2021 08:24

Go to the box in Leicester Square that sells last minute theatre tickets - should be plenty of choice on a Monday night

ThisissoSHIT · 08/12/2021 13:12

Thanks all, staying in Brent. Theatre sounds good!

Or use the Today Tix app for Rush tickets that go on sale at 10am
DentalWorries · 08/12/2021 13:20

I’m not sure if there are tickets left but ice skating at Somerset House is always lovely. Otherwise Winter Wonderland or a show. TodayTix is great for cheap tickets

TheMagiciansNiece · 08/12/2021 13:28

I've got tickets for this for February - it's supposed to be fabulous.
