What do you do whilst cleaner is in?

I've never had one before but having a deep kitchen clean.

I will be in and it's a tiny house. She is doing the kitchen.

Should I stay upstairs? Would that be awkward?
I'd feel lazy watching TV whist she works 😂

I try and get out, shopping etc but if not I just sort of awkwardly dodge her.

If I am not at work, I go out.

I usually go out, or stay upstairs when they're downstairs and vice versa.

I've never met her before. I'm not sure I'd want to leave her here alone

Can you spend time on the computer as if you're working when you're really Christmas organising, reading the papers and mumsnetting?

CoachBeardless · 03/12/2021 23:00

I said to leave my bedroom and stayed in there.

Getthefireon · 03/12/2021 23:11

I’m out, leave the door unlocked (only for 10 minutes before she arrives) and leave

I try to do jobs in a different room - book a haircut, check what meds are needed and order prescription, do the tesco order type of thing. I find it useful to have a focus time to get lots of little jobs done. Plus i can relax in s clean house after knowing ive been productivel

Our 2 cleaners come when I'm in (I'm disabled and very rarely out) and depending on his rota dh can be there too. Dc also, but I don't get their rooms cleaned!!

I just move around. One cleaner does upstairs bathroom, our room, en-suite, hoovers stairs etc. The other does lounge then hall then kitchen. So I sit in the kitchen while she's doing the lounge, then sit in the (frankly unrecognisable!) lounge and bask in it while she does the kitchen. It's nice, we chat a lot and they're really lovely women, they brought my dd2 a bottle of Prosecco for her 18th birthday last week!!

I work from home, so just keep the door the room I’m in closed.
