I’m loosely considering a career change but I have 0 ideas on where to start and I feel a little pigeon holed.
I love my job but the nature of it means my life revolves around it rather than the other way round. I’m very antisocial and I dream of a small holding in the middle of no where which just doesn’t match up. I struggle with my mental health and coming to a point where I think perhaps my job needs to fit in with my life rather than the other way round.
Current job essentially involves investigating incidents and compiling reports. I have a good knowledge of law, justice process, working with vulnerable people, data disclosure.
A sideways move isn’t really an option as I will be paid significantly less doing this job elsewhere. Prior to this, I worked in a very fast paced call centre making fast decisions in response to risk.
I have 3 good A-levels (ABC in psychology, biology and English) but did not go to Uni.
I am essentially considering changing my career so it fits round my life rather than the other way round.
I would LOVE to WFH permanently.
Good salary once established (50k+)
I’m not opposed to retraining/taking a degree but I need to be earning so would need to be part time/open uni style study or training on the job.
Added complication is I am looking at moving abroad for a purse or two in 12-18 months due to partner seeking overseas post. Current job means I can take a career break and return to it after. I wouldn’t necessarily need to work whilst abroad so studying full time at that point would be an option if it’s possible to do that online in a different country 🤔
