9 Month Old Won’t Eat

Help! My 9 month old (10m this month) will not eat. She never got off to a good start with weaning - she’s never let me spoon feed her so tried to down the BLW route and put a spoon in where I could but she literally doesn’t eat a thing. She’d started to get slightly better and learn to chew and had bits of things to eat but now just throws the food off the highchair and barely even puts it to her mouth. I’m lost at what to do I really don’t get how she’s meant to be eating 3 meals a day in a few weeks nevermind no milk in a few months. Sometimes milk can be hard to get down her too because she’s so active she just wants to be on the move constantly.

Does anyone have any tips? Finding it really hard. Also can anyone tell me their babies routine for amount of milk had and when to time food? My baby will only have small bottles before she pulls off so she does have a bottle every 2-3 hours which can vary from 3-5oz each time.

Hi, same thing happened to me when he was 7 months old (3 months ago) it could be to do with teething to be honest. But I was always told no matter what anyone says every baby is different, they dont NEED to be on 3 meals a day, ignore instagram and the likes.

So long as they're taking their milk and some form of food no matter how much then its fine. Just make sure you keep checking their weight if you're really concerned but only now at 10 months is my lo having a full pouch of food twice a day and then maybe a little yoghurt before bed.

I would also try finger foods like cucumber and carrots!

Does she show any interest in your food @NewMum123456789

Don't stress about it. All babies are different, some are a little slow to get earing. I'd offer 3 meals a day, whatever you are eating. Sit at the table together and if she just smears, throws or smashes it that is fine. Just ignore it, eat your own and clear up when you've finished.

As long as she's a healthy weight and not dropping centiles I really wouldn't worry.

@C0nn1e she shows an interest but you offer it and she doesn’t want it or throws it like I always eat the same as her and even eat what she throws on the floor sometimes 😂 I will try not to worry thank you!
