Jobs that you don't know anyone who do them

Inspired by other threads. Are there any jobs where you don't actually know anyone in real life, even a friend of a friend or someone you've heard of, who does it?

For example I don't know anyone who is a postman (apart from the ones I've had who come all lovely and cheery, drop the post and go).I have genuinely no idea what the job is really like or how people find it. Don't know anyone in my personal life who does it!

Anyone got anything else like that?

Most of the people I know do office jobs or health and social care. That's probably more than 50% of all jobs there are!

I don't know any deep-sea fishermen, or bank managers, trapeze artists, zoo keepers, make-up artists or software engineers.

I do, however, seem to know an awful lot of people with somewhat uncommon jobs. Must be something in the water round here.

I don't know any submariners, lace makers, entomologists, butlers, spies, darts players, tourist information assistants. I'm bored now.

My husband is a postman so we know loads! I don't know any milkmen, surgeons, lighthouse keepers, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers...errm I don't know any doctors, vet's, supermodels, dustmen,fishermen or artists....wow there's loads when you think about it..maybe I should get out more, would especially like to be friends with a lighthouse keepers,.that would be so interesting!

I don't know anyone who puts the food down for the Queens dogs.

The problem is that in many cases the jobs you don’t know anyone who does are jobs you just won’t have even heard of
Yeah exactly. It's basically a thread of "what I jobs can you name" which is pretty pointless and doesn't even invite discussion

I don't understand this thread.
What jobs don't people you know do?

Why, why, is that interesting?

British people like this kind of thing because it’s class confirmation bias.

“Aha, I don’t know any posties or plumbers. Just professionals for me. I’m so middle class it hurts, tehe”

I dont know people who are in 1000's of professions. Those people far outweigh the people I do know in a handful of professions. Birds of a feather flock together and all that. Id assume this is normal?
