Nasty Rash - any suggestions while I wait for 111 call back?

Posting here for traffic (also posted on Children's health board)

Have rung 111 and awaiting a call back. DS has had a mild abrasion on his bum cheek from a week ago when he went into a wall during PE.

Whilst he was getting ready for bed I saw that he has a really nasty reactive looking red rash (my thumb is pictured for scale!)

Any ideas?

Urticaria?

It looks like excema? Not sure it was worth bothering 111 for.

Thanks @bluejay. Looks most like the atopic eczema from all the rashes shown. He does get eczema sometimes in winter but never seen it look as bad as this.

111 are always happy to check out child health. NHS staff have always made it clear that if a parent is concerned they will always take a look - sometimes minor seeming things are not minor.

I'm sure this will turn out to be something harmless if itchy. However, it had sudden onset, covers a fairly large area of skin and we don't know what it is or if it is allergy related. Therefore we are checking it out.

In fact it was DH who rang and his motto in life is 'it will be alright'. He is very relaxed, but also a therapist with long experience.
