Covid vaccine and pregnancy

Has anyone had a baby since taking the covid vaccine? Had made my mind up that I would take the booster during my pregnancy ( received previous 2 just before I fell pregnant ) Unfortunately came across an article today in the Scottish Herald about the sharp rise In Neonatal deaths in Scotland in SEPTEMBER and anti vaxxers claiming there's a link between that and the vaccine ( all mothers had received the vaccine pregnant) Having experienced a loss this year already ( pre vaccine) I am now unclear and feeling very anxious re taking the booster and now in a total anxious riddle on what to do. Any opinions, thoughts etc would be much appreciated. Genuinely not looking for a debate. Just would like to hear everyone's experience / opinion / views etc. Many thanks. I respect all opinions. Let's keep it kind everyone xx

You are freaked out by what anti vaxxers say? Are they likely to be a reliable source of information?

Olahaha2021 · 02/12/2021 11:23

NOTE the mothes vavcination status' has not been disclosed. Apologies.

There is no info on vaccination status of the mothers but this link says nothing directly linked ro covid and that pregnant women had been more hesitant about getting vaccinated. I imagine the anti-vaxxers are adding 1+1 and getting 3

More like adding one and one and getting conspiracy monsters!

This is what anti vaxxers do.

Another stat on one of the articles; as there are a few:

For Scotland as a whole, data up to the end of September indicates that 99 women had been admitted to critical care within 21 days of testing positive for Covid during pregnancy. Of these women, 98 were unvaccinated.

I had both doses during pregnancy, and my baby is now a few weeks old, with no problems whatsoever. I know it’s a hard decision, but I’m very glad I did have the vaccine and that we have both remained well.

dementedpixie · 02/12/2021 11:28

Of the 1,342 mothers who gave birth in Scotland during September, 34 per cent were vaccinated but only 24% had received both doses, compared to around 60-70% of all women aged 18 to 39.

I know two women who've had healthy babies since being vaccinated.

I had both vaccines while pregnant (at 18 weeks and 27 weeks or something like that). Expecting my baby any day now and so far everything is fine. I've read horror stories about pregnant women getting really sick with covid which I wouldn't want to risk. I also want my baby to have covid antibodies if possible. I was hoping to get a booster before he's born so that he gets more antibodies but I won't be eligible in time.

CaptSkippy · 02/12/2021 11:52

The opposite is the case. Unvaccinated pregnant women are at severe risk from covid. There is even a rare condition where covid gets into the placenta and cases a miscarriage. This has now happened 13 times in my country as of June and doctors are amazed no one has died yet. They worry it's only a matter of time.

I had two doses of Pfizer in pregnancy and if I may say so myself my baby came out totally perfect!

Also I got Covid when was less than two months old and l got it very mild and he had no symptoms at all which I attribute to vaccines and breastfeeding

Yes I did and a small baby boom amongst other medic friends. We are all double (and now triple) vaccinated pre and during pregnancies x

FrangipanFlower · 02/12/2021 19:29

Currently cuddling my five week old, I had both doses of the AZ vaccine whilst pregnant and a moderna booster a couple of weeks ago too. Whilst I was in hospital there were around 30 Covid patients who’d been admitted and most were pregnant women.

123deepbreath · 03/12/2021 15:23

I also had both sides of Pfizer, one at 24 weeks and one at 32, currently cuddling my 3 month old who whilst I am probably biased is perfect in every way. Worst side effect I had was after the first one I had a headache and slept for twelve hours straight, second one I had no issues what so ever
