Dd, who normally never feels the cold and is the weirdo walking around with no coat on when everyone else is bundled up, is complaining of being cold.

When the cat is no longer content just cuddled up to me in bed on top of the duvet, and insists on getting under it to warm up too. I wouldn’t mind this except when she’s happy, she uses me as a pin cushion

YY to a DD11 who never wears a coat in all kinds of crap weather but suddenly wanting her coat on! That's the indicator for me.

When I wear my fluffy socks inside my boots and leggings under my jeans 😂

When the dogs flat out refuse to go outside.

When all 3 cats and the dog sleep on the bed with me and dont squabble with each other.

If I tried to put kitten mittens on my cat, I would lose my fingers

My littlest dog (who only weighs about 2kgs) is now refusing to go out for a walk at all. So she stays home in the nice warm house, whilst bigger dog (6kg) goes for a walk

When I tell the kids at school to put their coats on and no-one argues (it's never yet been cold enough for everyone to put them on without being told).

When DS2 wears a coat. Hasn't happened yet.

When DH remembers to shut the back door.

When DH puts a t-shirt on in bed. This will usually coincide with me wearing full pjs, bed socks and sometimes a sweatshirt, often with an extra blanket on my side. He might concede at this point that it is indeed, “a bit nippy”.

I also have a DC who doesn’t feel the cold.

When he was little I knew he was poorly when he said he was cold.

We’re currently without heating (boiler is fucked) and DS not only turned away the cute little portable heater I got for his room but is actively complaining that it’s too hot…

For us, winter has arrived when the big cat decides to sleep on the small cat on "her" chair in our utility room.

It's definitely really cold when the small cat insists on coming into the house and stays in!

Ah yes, when the cats put aside their differences and both sleep on top of me without a quibble. And yes DD actually wears a coat outside and socks in the house. I live in a very old house with stone flooring and her sockless antics make my feet shrivel.

It's practically arctic if she sticks a bare foot u set the heated throw. Only for a few mins and then she's "boiling" again.

When you have to clip the hairy arse horse because she's sweating but then have to add 3 rugs every night.

My 8yo is wearing tights to school. But only because I bought red ones. Its not cold enough for black or grey yet.

I'm one of those who doesn't feel the cold until about now really, I don't own a coat just a light fleecy thing and that generally does it. DH however is the opposite and doesn't get hot and from about october wears pyjamas

We went to New York when it was like 30 plus degrees and he wasn't even sweating, I however looked like someone had thrown a bucket of water over my head

I have a cat and dog layering on my knee. No heating so 🥶

I look outside in the morning and all the buildings around us have thick white frost on their roofs.

You know it's cold when DS pulls the long socks up his calves.

You know it's really, really cold if he consents to wearing over trousers on top of his shorts... last done in -6⁰C plus substantial windchill during The Beast From The East.

It's over 2 years since he last wore any kind of trousers.
