Should I book a weekend in London?

DC don't really need stuff this Christmas so we hit on the idea of booking a few nights in London, shows etc. In light of the Covid would this really be wise?

Cases in London are actually quite low compared to most of the country. The lights are beautiful and there are lots of xmas markets. As for tubes, if you’re reasonably fit, most of it is walkable, or jump on a bus. There’s a tube map which shows you the walking time between stations.

Central London is so walkable and a lovely way to take in the atmosphere. The Christmas lights look beautiful and I'm looking forward to going this weekend.

The only thing put me off is if I had elaborate Xmas plans with extended family. The more mixing you do there is slightly higher risk catching a cold or virus or covid. It’s only 6 days before Xmas. If it’s just your family and one of you gets cold or covid you are more happy stay at home that’s great. If it would mean poor grandma who’s vulnerable spend it’s on her own I might consider going earlier so there is recovery time in between.

Do it. Just check the covid cancellation policy of anything you book and make sure you can move it or get a refund.
