On my own 😂
With a pint at 9am

Only when you have dcs do you appreciate the silence

Enjoy your trip.

TomAllenWife · 01/12/2021 09:59

I could sit here all day people watching, it's a lovely feeling

Due to fly in 19 days, although with children so not so relaxing.

Wagsandclaws · 01/12/2021 10:02

Off to Lapland on Sunday from Manchester airport.

I don't anticipate much silence what with my two dc and the hoards of others getting on the same flight to see Santa but I too might Induge in a wee dram 🥃

Happy travels OP 🎄🥳

TomAllenWife · 01/12/2021 10:07

Oh no deffo not the same with dc

I took mine in October and the fighting over suitcases, window seats, who was first in the queue, who ordered food first etc etc just ruins it

@Aroundtheworldin80moves where are you off to?

MindyStClaire · 01/12/2021 10:12

Oh amazing.

I haven't flown since I was pregnant with DC1 four years ago.

I find myself fantasising about being on a long haul flight, alone. Nowhere to go and nothing to do but sit and read a book. For hours. Heaven.

Pre-DC me would not have agreed. Grin

Wagsandclaws · 01/12/2021 10:12

No, I haven't flown in 16 years due to developing a random phobia of flying.

It's my DC's ( 9 and 12 ) first time on a plane and they are beyond excited - me not so much but I think I'm massively improved compared to how I was - certainly enough to fly again.

I will definitely be partaking of a little whisky before we depart though. Grin

TomAllenWife · 01/12/2021 10:28

@Wagsandclaws my fear of flying used to be crippling until I did the Paul McKenna course (about £6 on Amazon)
It changed my life, now I fly everywhere and anywhere with only mild anxiety alleviated by a pint or 2 Grin

I can't wait to get back! Always get a bloody mary or a pint no matter how early 😄

escapingthecity · 01/12/2021 10:30

I love having time to potter around the shops at the airport on my own. I only ever buy books, magazines and sweets, but it's excellent alone time.

Andorra (via Toulouse, since there's no airports in Andorra). Hopefully we will get there.

Wagsandclaws · 01/12/2021 10:33

Oooo @TomAllenWife did it!?

I have toyed with the idea of doing the BA fear of flying course ( not cheap though ). After the pandemic and everything grinding to a halt I made up my mind that I wasn't going to let my phobia affect our ability to go on holiday anymore, and that literally life is just too short.

I won't lie I do have some diazepam to take if I need it ( don't worry wouldn't have a whisky if I felt I need to take them ) but so far and we are only a few days away I haven't got the fear that I would have done so close to leaving for our holiday.

I am beside myself with excitement. I love the snow and this was something that I have wanted to do with the Dc for years 🎅

Where are you off to? Anywhere exciting?

Theplantisgrowing · 01/12/2021 10:37

Hypnosis is amazing and well worth it, life changing yes

TomAllenWife · 01/12/2021 10:39

Not really I'm going to turkey to take care of DP who's just had surgery, he flew out at the weekend.

Honestly get the download of Paul McKenna, you listen to it every night for 2 weeks.
I've been to Thailand, US, Hong Kong since using it
Prior to that could just about manage Ireland

I'm planning to go on a short trip alone to have a medical procedure done, back within 48 hours. I haven't gone anywhere without kids in 10 long years. Can't wait! Just a backpack or tiny suitcase, a book... no arguing about window seats etc...hope there won't be any bloody covid restrictions.
